Conditions: Procedure 1 for standard food samples:
The pretreated sample is shaken with Mix II and centrifuged. Then 1 ml supernatant is transferred to the centrifuge tube, which is pre-filled with Mix III (for food with low fat content) or Mix IV (for food with moderate content of chlorophyll and carotinoids). It is shaken and centrifuged again. At last the supernatant is determinated by subsequent analysis.
Procedure 2 for complex food samples:
The sample is extracted with Mix I, then 1 ml supernantant is transferred to the centrifuge tube with Mix III (samples with low fat content), Mix IV (moderate content of chlorophyll and carotinoids; e.g. carrots, lettuce), Mix V (high content of chlorophyll and carotinoids; e.g. bell peppers, spinach) or Mix VI (higher fat content; e.g. avocados). It is shaken, centrifuged and determinated by subsequent analysis.
